About
Hey there! My name is Lars Kristian Johansen, and I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.
I grew up in Oslo, Norway, and I’ve been interested in technical things ever since I was born. I recall playing multi-player Warcraft 2 on my family’s 266Mhz beefy computer using IPX network protocol across my LAN network with my buddies. Particularly the screaming across the floors when we had to agree on a map is something I’ll never forget – it was good times. I was fortunate to have both the encouragement and the opportunities to pursue these interests, which ultimately led me into the world of software engineering and eventually brought me across the world to the heart of the tech industry.
I have a lifelong appreciation for music and sports. While I explored many activities growing up—soccer, basketball, track and field, tennis, and gymnastics—tennis and running have remained a constant part of my life. Today, I stay active through both and enjoy connecting with fellow athletes on Strava. If you’d like to follow along, you can find my contact information on the contact page.
In recent years, I’ve also developed a strong passion for food and cooking. While I may never pursue the path of a professional chef, I take great joy in learning, experimenting, and refining my skills in the kitchen. Cooking has become both a creative outlet and a rewarding way to connect with others, and I am always eager to learn from those with more experience.
I tend not to be overly active on social media, so you won’t often see day-to-day updates from me. However, when meaningful or memorable experiences arise, I enjoy sharing them and celebrating those moments with others.
