Hey there! My name is Lars Kristian Johansen and I’m currently working as a Software Engineer at Okta while living in San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
I grew up in Oslo, Norway, and I’ve been interested in technical things ever since I was born. I recall playing multi-player Warcraft 2 on my family’s 266Mhz beefy computer using IPX network protocol across my LAN network with my buddies. Particularly the screaming across the floors when we had to agree on a map is something I’ll never forget – it was good times. I was always lucky and also encouraged to pursue my interests which I’m very grateful for. This lead me into the world of software engineering and later moved me across the world to the heart of the tech industry.
I also enjoy playing guitar and also enjoyed a variety of sports during my childhood; soccer, basketball, track and field, tennis, gymnastics, and perhaps some more I’ve forgotten. Maybe I was so bad at it that I forced it out of my mind? Specifically, tennis and running are some of the sports that I’ve kept on enjoying later in life and I’m an active Strava user. Later in life, I have also started to have a huge passion for food – I’d love to be a chef one day even though that does seem to be a stressful endeavor. Maybe just a hobby chef is enough 🙂 If you have something to teach me, please do – I love cooking!
I’m generally not a very active person on social media, meaning you’d not see my daily dinners being posted often. But if there are particular events that don’t happen all the time, I’m not shy to tell the world.
